FETC

Hi from FETC! The Florida Educational Technology Conference has left me inspired and eager to incorporate fresh ideas into our curriculum.

Next Friday, 5th grade will use Big Huge Labs to create Explorer Trading Cards based on their learning from each other's Exploration Log Projects. Here's an example:

Rural, Suburban, and Urban Communities

We've missed you! Unfortunately, our recent photos are gone, so here's a little bit of what we've been up to lately.

Third grade read about housing, jobs, recreation, and transportation in rural and urban communities. Students worked in pairs to glean information to record on the class' color-coded venn diagram. The children then created these dioramas of each of the three communities. Ultimately, the class decided that there are many positive aspects about living in both rural and urban areas, in addition to the suburban communities that they are familiar with.
