Behaalotecha

Behaalotecha means "when you raise up." The Torah uses this word when referring to the lighting of the menorah. When Aaron lit the menorah he held the flame at each wick for long enough so that it could burn on its own. This also applies to us when we help others light their own flame.

Each and every one of your children behaved as a kind, considerate, and encouraging mentor to their first grade buddy during our second tikkun olam visit. As teachers, we were proud of the third graders’ manners and maturity.  The third grade students displayed positive attitudes, and were great representatives of our school. Our class engaged their first grade buddies throughout our entire visit. Through reading and writing, the third graders helped first graders meet Common Core Standards.

According to Maimonides, the highest level of tzedakah is helping someone become self-sufficient, and your children were wonderful teachers! Thank you to the parent drivers who made this mitzvah possible.
